Can The Bike Repair Man build wheels?
Yes, absolutely; by hand, with love, care and a spoke tension meter! There's just nothing like hand-built wheels. I build for road, mountain or any bike. I'm a DT Swiss trained wheel-builder. Email me at the
Contact page.
Can you build a complete bike for me?
Yes, new builds and cross-builds are great projects to work on. I can plan, cost and project-manage the whole build or do as much as you'd like. I build road bikes, mountain bikes and triathlon bikes, I also set up the bike owner's position on the bike.
What sort of road bikes does The Bike Repair Man work on?
All sorts! From memory, and in no particular order, Roberts, Giant, Cervelo, Willier, Ribble, Specialized, Bianchi, Dawes, Ettridge, Principia and many more.
What about mountain bikes?
Musn't forget those! The Bike Repair Man works on all types: from rigid bikes, full-suspension bikes, hardtails from all the usual suspects including GT, Specialized, Giant, Titus, Santa Cruz, Orange, Scott, On One, Marin...
Do you restore older bikes?
Yes, the most distuinguished that has undergone rejuvenation being a Hercules, but others include Raleigh bicycles, Saracen, Peugeot and even Triumph. The first step is usually to assess the bicycle and develop a quote for the owner.
Can you give me a quote before sorting out my bike?
Yes, The Bike Repair Man creates a quote and seeks the owner's approval before starting the work.
Can you set up a new bike that I've bought online?
Yes of course. Give The Bike Repair Man a call to discuss.
Can you service my bike while I'm away?
Yes, give The Bike Repair Man a call to arrange the dates.
Do you service children's bikes?
Yes. If the wheels are 24" in diameter (or under) it costs a bit less than an adult bike.
